Biography

TRIVET the Golemancer
some fanatic attitude

Trivet migrated to Rift Clan alongside his lifelong companions Vortis and Rampant. And also because Tempest Spire wanted to keep a direct eye on The Rift after the events of The Pit. The Rift also provides a convenient place to dump failed projects and toxic waste. It's probably fine.

A wonderworker of automatons and golems, Trivet was picked up early in life by an agency of Tempest Spire to produce custom automata for The Stormcatcher's various needs. He has fulfilled his duties well and admirably, but his exposure to the flight's God has left him a touch... eccentric. Trivet toils, unsleeping, for weeks at a time, only to collapse into a twitching exhausted mess after his body just can't take it anymore. He also has the habit of talking faster than anyone can process-- anyone but his machines of course! Those are what really matter.

Trivet's creations can be found all over Rift Clan territory, providing whatever drudgery is necessary. Some excavate pathways to the rift using information from Coal, while others handle hazardous materials in Rampant and Vortis' lab. Others scout, hunt, gather, and greet visitors. Why, it's a wonder anyone gets any work done when robots can do it better!

Trivet's zest is fueled by his rare luminous markings that Rampant has dubbed "ley lines." Different than the similar genetic markings found in some dragons, ley lines are a sort of magically-awakened adaptation. They allow a dragon to create a closed loop of magic energy in their bodies without any leaching out by normal means. When managed carefully, this can allow a dragon to boost its sorcery signifigantly... But Trivet is not much of a fighter. Instead, he keeps his ley lines running hot to power all his creations at maximum efficiency. This means that when he inevitably collapses, the clan suffers a sort of "brownout" where the helpful automata struggle to do their chores, if they don't shut down completely.

He worries not one whit about his health.
