"You can’t afford my services.” She scoffed, leaning back and blowing smoke into the face of the Spiral dragon who claimed he spent the past two months seeking her out. He began to cough, trying to sputter out words as she picked herself up from their meeting. Her two companions chuckled as they watched the tiny Spiral try to gather himself from the devastating disappointment of being turned away. The Spiral cried out as they passed through the doorway to leave, cursing her. The escorts immediately spun around, their hands going directly to their weapons. She smirked, nodded to her partners, and left without even glancing back. The two returned into the room with the Spiral. the devils' gonna set me free - Morlais is a dragon who is feared throughout Starbird Pass and the surrounding valleys. She is the leader of the resident gang who operate just beyond Estel's law. Prior to her arrival, there were smaller groups of dragons who would rob traders and travelers. They were dangerous, but insignificant in comparison to the level of cruelty that Morlais has inflicted. She quickly gained control over them, bending them under her will until most of them either perished or fled. the devil's gonna make me a free man - She claims that she is the most moral dragon in the valley, believing that every soul naturally seeks to crush others for their own benefit. Her twisted philosophy is spewed by her supporters and used to justified their devastating blows against others, claiming that their victims would be just as apt to use force if they were strong enough. Morlais is especially aggravated by Estel’s leadership and how she tricks others into service under her. Though her gang is governed closely under her eye and claw, she makes the point that they are deliberately following her. She would never “free” an indentured dragon and looks at them with disgust. Ain't got no place to call a home - Her world revolves around keeping herself, and those under her, happy. Their successful raids are immediately followed by week-long celebrations. Her gang basks in their wealth and devolves into hedonism. They have simple needs and have simple pleasures: eating, drinking, and making merry. Their echoing singing can be heard throughout the valley where they camp. |
