Thoughtful, Romantic, Thrifty | Impressionable, Shy, Reticent

Calcite followed his mother into the merchanting trade. With a good eye for quality and a stone face when it comes to bargaining, he always manages to get a fair price, unless his heart gets in the way.
While he still spends most of his time travelling, walking a steady path between clans, trading posts and back again, he really loves having someone to come home to. The nomadic life has it's charms, but in his mind, there is nothing nicer than stepping into a lair after a long journey, and snuggling up with someone to tell them all about it, even if home in most of these cases is his covered wagon shared with a mate rather than a room in a lair.

His daydreams of romance never went too far until he met Oven, sometimes on his journeys he'd meet a nice dragon, usually a young male there to bargain over something or other, but he always got shy and stumbled over his words until he was embarrassed enough to make a quick exit, feeling foolish.

Meeting Caravan Rocksfall for trading he found himself charmed by the Wildclaw Herder Ivory's rugged good looks but as usual found himself tongue-tied when it came to talking to the dragon himself. Ivory invited the young Snapper to journey with the Caravan for a while back to their roost at Home Rock and Calcite agreed. It was on meeting the rest of the Trade Party that Oven took a liking to the young Snapper, keeping him well-fed and not pressuring him into talking. When Calcite tried to say something but ended up tongue-tied the Coatl chef took no offence when he covered his embarrassment by shoving food in his mouth.

Over the course of his journey his crush on Ivory faded and he found a deeper bond growing between him and the Coatl chef. The good-natured Fire Dragon's easygoing manner made him easier to talk to than most of the dragons Calcite developed feelings for and his genuine curiosity about Calcite's upbringing meant he never ran out of things to talk about.

On arriving at the lair at Home Rock Calcite was surprised when the coatl presented him with the Burlap Mantle of Clan Rocksfall and an offer to share a lair with him. Since then the pair have adopted a Fae child together and seem very happy.

Relations

Oven: Calcite's partner and cook of the Caravan. The two met while Calcite was travelling with the Caravan on trade business and instantly became attached to the snapper. While he seems flashy he is both kind and attentive, understanding that there are times when Calcite doesn't want to feel pressured into a conversation. He is quick to reassure Calcite that his mistakes aren't too bad and always the first to congratulate him on a job well done.

Luck: Calcite and Oven's adopted child. Calcite had no intentions of being a father even if the dragon gods would allow it but meeting Luck has changed his mind. The tiny Earth Dragon has grown on him and brings out his tender side. Even with the Fae now an adult the Snapper is always willing to support and listen to his problems and offer advice. He is calmer than usual when in Luck's company.

Ivory: Herder and Second in Command of the Caravan. Though Calcite's crush on Ivory faded fast due to his tendency to become tongue-tied around the Wildclaw Calcite none the less has a great admiration bordering on hero worship for the second in command of the caravan that Oven often teases him about. He respects all of Ivory's decisions and at times tries to be more decisive and outspoken like him.
