Guppie stands in constant competition with Cytherea: They're always debating which one flies higher, which one flies faster and who is more elegant doing so. This leads to the next level of competition: Who is the better flight instructor? Which one of them is more successfull in explaining the hatchlings how to lift off the ground? Sometimes other dragons indeed think that this behavior leads to a deep rooted rivalry but the both of them are actually friends with a healthy sense of competition. Both of them are actually pretty good flight instructors, even though Guppie has quite a bit more experience with the hatchlings of this clan than Cytherea. He loves this job though, but sometimes the hatchlings are a bit cheeky and try to get on his wings before he tells them to fly on their own. Of course they don't succeed but it's really bothering him sometimes since he just wants to teach them properly and well. In comparison to Cytherea he might not be as swift but he knows more about different flying techniques and sometimes is even able to teach some of the cute little Snapper hatchlings how to fly.

Usually Guppie is a rather peaceful dragon who doesn't really like to fight or discuss with anyone - with exclusion of Cytherea - but that doesn't mean he isn't able to build is own opinion. He just doesn't see why he should force other people to understand the way he thinks. Most of the dragons are fine with that kind of mindset - since it doesn't mean he's not a dragon that can't be talked to. He likes to listen a lot more though, and because he's espescially close to the hatchlings, they often come to him if they have any questions or need a kind soul who'd listen to their cute ramblings. One of his dreams is, to one day visit the Southern Icefields for vacation though, but he really didn't bother telling this plan to anyone since he's not sure if he'd actually like it there. He just likes cold things - and for that, he could also just take a cold bath in the underground lake which belongs to the clan. He is also too loyal to just leave for only a few days - who knows, what might happen during that time! So it's just easier to stay with the clan for the time being; there's enough sky above that he didn't have the chance to discover yet so that would keep him busy a few more years. If he still wanted to see the Southern Icefields after that, he could still do it. By the way: Guppie really loves Icecream, fish and mints - he sometimes joins Tlaloc for fishing and Lan to get some herbs. And of course, he also loves to spend time with his partner Jelli, who sometimes needs to leave the clan for a few days to fight really scary monsters. The flight instructor really doesn't like to see him come home hurt by the beasts, but he tried persuading him to stop this once and it didn't really go well. |
