Undead Instinctual Predator |
Dantalia
"... Eat, eradicate." Dantalia used to be a kindhearted, gentle dragon who lived her life somewhere in the plague domain, along with her friend Atlacoya. But one day their fate got sealed when Dantalia fell ill. Gradually her body started to decay. She was alive, yet she gardually began to resamble a decomposing corpse, rather than a living being. Her personality also altered. Or rather, her gentle personality was replaced by a zombie-like behavior. She was silent, emotionless, could barely speak or express herself any longer, and never spoke more than an attempt-to-sentence at once. She didn't even seem to have any recognition or memories. For weeks, she'd just stare into the distance. Atlacoya tried everything to cure her, he sought advice everywhere, yet no one seemed familiar with the disease. It appeared incurable. Atlacoya was getting desperate. The more time passed, the worse Dantalia got. Eventually she became aggressive, and started to act entirely on instinct. She begun attacking everything and everyone. Dantalia developed an enormous attack power and swiftness, acting like an ancient predator. Soon a side-effect was discovered; whoever got bitten by Dantalia, got down under the same disease. Atlacoya lost all hope at that point, since no one even dared approach her anymore, afraid to get infected. He was the only one who could approach her. For some reason she didn't attack Atlacoya. She even spoke out his name on occasions. Perhaps the last bit of recognition left in her, was her childhood friend. They became homeless since no one wanted anything to do with the disease-carrying Dantalia. Until one day they passed Tali's lair. The lair curiously heard out Atlacoya, about what happened. They brought in Naga, who researched Dantalia, only to conclude that Dantalia was indeed in an incurable state. However Naga wanted to keep Dantalia around, so at least she could try to find a cure for early-stage patients. And so Dantalia and Atlacoya became part of the clan. Dantalia was Naga's test subject, while Atlacoya carefully watched over and took care of his friend. The other members were opposed against the idea, afraid of being bitten, but they were okay with it under the condition that Dantalia would wear a muzzle at all times. Her instinctual behavior didn't allow her to think logically enough to find a way to take it off. She spends most of her time lurking at the lair members with gazing eyes, in the position of a hunter who is ready to attack, yet apart from scaring the others with her outbursts, she couldn't do any damage. Eventually, they all got used to her behavior. Dantalia proves to be useful in times of war, where she is released from her muzzle and allowed to ravage on the battlefield. Atlacoya somewhat manipulates her into actually destroying the enemies entirely. If they aren't torn apart, they'd just live on under the same disease as Dantalia. Her combat skills are frightful and even just her appearance brings shivers down the enemies' spines. However, will she ever return to her former self? Let's hope so. She's named after Dantalian, a powerful great Duke of hell with thirty-six legions of demons under his command. He teaches all arts and sciences, and declares the secret counsel of anyone, given that he knows the thoughts of all people and can change them at his will. |
