Dragonhome is a desert land with little fertile land and even less rain. Hunger is a prevalent problem in the territory, but little can be done so food has to be imported. Merchant caravans don't always carry enough with them and few clans will sell for fair prices. Harriet grew up in her mother's apothecary, watching Silverlake prepare her potions from plants, bones, scales, and other bizarre ingredients. Yet her mother's plants were always dry and wilted, resulting in weak potions, if her mother’s words were to be believed. She wished to help her mother and dug into her father's books, searching for a way to cultivate plants in their harsh home.

Her first experiments were failures upon failures - most of her plants died of dehydration or survived but were dry and not better than the usual ones at all. Many experiments later and some help from the local alchemist and her mother Harriet had a shaky, but effective way of cultivating simple plants. She learned how to protect them from the sun, bring in more water, make the soil more fertile, help the plants with magic and other important details that helped her garden flourish.

She kept perfecting her methods, adjusting them for pickier plants and bigger plantations and soon she was able to at least partially free her clan from the need to import fruits and vegetables. They're far from being independent, but her breakthroughs have helped bolster the Truthseekers’ economy and earned her much respect.

Harriet can almost always be found in her gardens with her hands buried in soil. There's always something to work on and she never seems to be able to catch a break, not that she minds. She's a hard-working individual, never shirking her work and working with fervor. She's meticulous, triple checking her plants, making sure they have enough of what they need. She fears letting her clan down and crippling them by having a poor yield due to her carelessness.

She's an optimist, always cheerful and friendly with everyone. She dislikes conflict and is impossible to anger. Though easily frustrated with failure, Harriet will always rise and tackle the problem with even more drive after a few tears. She dislikes studying but loves reading books, especially about plants. She loves the outdoors and is rarely seen inside out of the sun. She’s especially fond of rainy days for they always promise great crops.

When not busy with work she'll go rest under a tree or sunbathe among her flowers. She has a thick herbarium filled with plants she's always adding new specimens to. It's filled with her personal notes and knowledge, a well-worn, loved book gifted to her by her parents when she showed an affinity for plants.

Harriet has found a lifelong partner in Regulus, the clan's mysterious fortune-teller. It was not a choice her parents were happy with, but they gave them their blessing once they saw just how happy their daughter was with the Coatl. Both of them are deep romantics and are glued by the hip when not working.
