Biography
Role: Jewelry maker
Mate: - Likes: Gems, precious stones, shopping Dislikes: Fake stones |
A R T E M I S
“Life is too short to wear boring jewelry.”
Shiny bands and reflective stones adorn this dragon and everything he does. His personal den is covered in glittering jewels and stones in both their raw, uncut form and in many fashionable cuts from across the world. He will pay handsomely for a newly cut jewel or the schematics for a newly created cut. As resident jewelry maker, he has the honor of creating pieces for not only himself and his clan but also dragons far and wide. His skills are well-known and many seek out his designs. Living within the clan has become a point of envy for dragons who love jewelry as Artemis will often create prototypes for the clan dragons to wear. While they are always pleased with the products, which are immeasurably beautiful, Artemis is not always happy with them. He considers all of his prototype works to be unfinished, rejected art and will hear nothing to the contrary. There are many precious stone deposits within clan territory and as a result he is never running out of materials to create from. Of course, this doesn't stop him from going to the market and looking for more materials. There is little this dragon loves more than self-indulgent spending. Buying designs from other jewelry makers or buying the raw stones, Artemis is always getting lost in the fashion districts of larger communities and will even manage to get lost in a small area market if it has more than one or two stalls carrying his preferred luxury. Despite the high artistic nature he puts off, he is a very easy dragon to get along with. Very little gets under his skin and he never says anything out of spite. The few times he has been angry at another dragon he has settled it calmly and with great dignity. He's a jewelry maker, not a fighter. He likes to laugh and loves to make others laugh. He doesn't like to see his fellow clan mates upset and will sometimes go out of his way to make them smile. If he can coax a laugh out of them, all the better! Sometimes the laughs are at his own expense as he tends to joke about his inability to fight in a clan so heavily populated with warriors. His eccentric nature and the real value of his jewelry make him an important member of the clan, no matter what he thinks about his personal ability to battle. Sometimes the inspiration will strike him to create a functional piece, something to be worn into battle. Although they don't quite protect, they are exquisite examples of his finest work and he is proud to be sending them out with the warriors of the clan. He will often stop by the blacksmith to offer some of his less pure gems, setting them into breast plates and shields or the pommels of swords to create a more solid sense of individuality. The expression of self is something Artemis is quite fond of and he tries to give that gift to every dragon he comes across.
