Biography

DINT DO NOTHING
WxWDEz4.png
Blackthumb mechanic

DINT is a blackthumb. Round here, that means mechanic (broadly). In his day-to-day, that mostly means taking care of machine parts that break down around Waysign, his wife's outpost (generators are the most notorious ne'er-do-wells; Wasteland dust gets everything all choked up). What he really enjoys doing is putting together automatons: machines that can run themselves and do a few tricks. Play music is a popular one, usually by way of them having little nubbly cylinders in their chests, like music boxes that can walk and wave.

For people who find automatons unsettling, the addition of music does not help, but it does make it difficult for them to sneak up on folks.

The remainder of Dint's clockwork creatures are designed to be practical in nature. Temperature trackers, moisture monitors, and cistern custodians are some of his more common (and popular) inventions, though he is occasionally brought on to build automatons with more martial applications in mind. He prefers to call these "feisty friends" and gives them tinny little theme songs to choreograph their fights to.

IMPRESSIONS
The white powdery texture of his hide is ever obscured by blotches of grease and oil; there's always some (ahem) unique bruise or scratch somewhere on his person, tattling on some especially thoughtless tool placement or overeagerness to finish a project.
RELATIONSHIPS
NOTCH and Dint are thick as thieves. They might as well be made for each other. They communicate primarily through high-energy yelling which may cause headaches in dragons of sensitive constitution. Sometimes Dint helps Notch in her shop and vice versa, and folks who've seen them working in tandem say it's hard to tell where Notch begins and Dint ends.
HEMWICK is Dint and Notch's firstborn son and -- don't tell anyone, it's obvious anyway -- their favourite. While neither parents nor son are entirely gifted with literacy, they make do with letter-based correspondence now and then. Dint wears a blue friendship bracelet made for him by Hemwick, and is never seen parted from it.
