CELESTIAL OBSERVATORY.

Emeraude has been an incredibly luck dragon. As a child, her mother and father never loved her, instead cruelly abandoning her in the Wispwillow Grove. Lost and alone, she called for help, but echoing laughter from her clan was her only response. They were mocking her, dangling safety and shelter in front of her like a carrot from a string. It was so close, yet so far. Eventually, she somehow stumbled out of the Tangled Wood and into the Scarred Wasteland. Repulsed by the rot and contagion spreading across the land, she tried to hastily make her way out, but her small hatchling body could not take the strain. She collapsed near the Wyrmwound, unaware of the danger that lay inches from her resting place. Fevers and hallucination had taken over her body, leading her to believe that the Wyrmwound was a clearwater oasis. Urged on by her dehydration, she touched her nose to the liquid. Suddenly, she became aware that something was very wrong. The liquid she had touched was not water, neither was it consumable in any way.

She felt a strong urge to throw up, and after she hurled the few bits of food in her stomach into the Wyrmwound, she passed out. When she woke, she was surrounded by Arcane dragons and the soft glow of the Starwood Strand's night blossoms. She felt a little weak, but other than that she was fine. The dragons surrounding her murmured, wide eyed with amazement. "Where am I?" she ventured, raising her body off the ground. "You're in the Starfall Isles." A dragon replied. Pressing a claw to her forehead, the dragon nodded and continued. "We found you in the Scarred Wasteland, passed out next to the Wyrmwound. You're incredibly lucky to have survived, you know. If it weren't for Zor here you would almost certainly have died. Few dragons survive contact with the Wyrmwound, especially not without lasting effect." Indicating a pale blue dragon as Zor, the dragon introduced herself as Nokto. "Thank you, both of you. I am eternally in your debt. My name is Emeraude, and I hope I will be able to stay in your den." Emeraude returned, bowing slightly. As she rose from her bow, she caught Zor's eye, and they both looked away, blushing.

As she grew stronger and healthier with each day, she also found that her feelings for Zor grew stronger than mere friendship. Eventually, she confessed her love for him and they became mates, nesting multiple times to produce beautiful children. Throughout her entire time in the clan, she has not forgotten how lucky she was, nor how precious life could be. To this day she spends her time with the young dragons, teaching that although luck may save you, it is it up to yourself to treasure the life that it has saved.
