A sweet, airy Pearlcatcher who befriended a lonesome guardian and became the mother of a clan.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

The clan matriarch doesn’t remember quite a lot about her early days. She knew that her life as a hatchling and youth was a fairly easy one as she’s always had a happy, bright demeanor about her. Despite her short term memory in her early years, she can pinpoint the exact moment when things started to really stick in place for her, even as a Tundra.
It was the day in which she quite literally stumbled across a lone, worn looking guardian sleeping in a cave. This guardian had looked as though his entire life had fallen into shambles and Vertigo knew that it was her who had to bring him out of whatever he was going through. The tundra decided to visit him every morning, dragging along whatever she managed to gather that day, and sitting with him talking, almost the entire day.
Most of the time, he wouldn’t even acknowledge her presence beside him, but every time she returned to the cave after leaving at night, she would find the food that she left there the morning before gone. It took time, but eventually the male started responding to her presence. It was merely just a glance or sneer at first, to gesture that he was annoyed by her company, but Vertigo saw it as progress. As time went by, he slowly grew more accustomed to her visits, and eventually grew to appreciate them. He wouldn’t ever share with her why or how he managed to get himself into such a state, and she really didn’t care to ask.

This continued for some time until one day she arrived to the cave, a bushel of grass in her mouth, and found it to be empty. The tundra searched high and low, but found the guardian nowhere. She questioned her memory, and as the days passed, grew to believe that she had made it all up. In her sadness, she ended up forgetting about the guardian that she had spent so much time with.

She continued on with her life, a small hint of sadness lingering in her heart for a reason that she couldn’t remember. It wasn’t until years later that the guardian found her again. As soon as she was close enough to smell him, the betrayal came back to her and she lashed out at him in fear that he would hurt her emotionally again. The guardian successfully managed to calm the upset Tundra and offered her a scroll that he had come across in his travels, one that would turn her into a Pearlcatcher and allow her to remember all that she had forgotten of their time together.

Some trust lingered in her heart for him and she took his offer, becoming the beauty that she is today and remembering what she lost. Her feelings for him returned and she patiently listened as he opened up to her about everything that he had gone through. He told her that when he realized his own feelings for her and that he had been moving on from the pain from his past, that he had panicked and fled. She found it in herself to forgive him and took him as her partner and life’s mate. They decided to build a life together and in such started a clan.

They hadn't tried in...a long time to see if they were still potent enough to reproduce. Vertigo wasn't sure if she wanted to really either since it had been years since she had last birthed an egg. It just hadn't been necessary for her to do so when there were so many hatchlings out there living without parents.

It could only have been fate that she came across an egg quite like this one. It was from Lightning, a Flight that they were friendly with, having two ambassadors living within their own clan. As a mother, she never quite cared which Flights her adopted children came from.
She was quite surprised at what hatched from the egg that she had found. It was a small tundra female, born with colors exactly of her own. Vertigo could only wonder if it had been a blessing from the gods themselves.
Instead of letting the caretakers raise the young-ling closely, Vertigo took the babe into her home and introduced her to Absolem. The older Guardian was quick to take to the young tundra, as she reminded him so much of his mate. Absolem gave her the name Mimic out of affection and for the first time, adopted a hatchling as one of his own.
