He got the gift from his mother he supposed - the ability to see the future. It came in flashes to him in the night. Sometimes he saw wonderful things; he loved to see new hatchlings shaking off the last of their shells and begin to explore the nest.

However, Oracle's gift came with a price. He'd see horrible things in his mind's eye while he slept. The most reoccurring prophecy involved the Emperors marching on different Flights. It started with them wiping out the Southern Icefields, and then marching north. As they went, their numbers grew from the Imperials they murdered along the way. Eventually Dragonhome was all that was left standing. As Earthshaker had said, all the gods returned to stand against this threat. The prophecy ended there each time, with the gods standing together, working together, to protect the last of their children.

Oracle believed it was his job to spread the word about this impending doom. His mother cautioned him, "We are not normal Coatl, Oracle. We are believed to bring misfortune already, so even if our people believe your dreams will come true, they will think you will bring the Emperors to them and will not welcome you. Your words will not be seen as a bad omen, but you will be. Your gift must be kept a secret until the time comes for you to take the dragons to Dragonhome where they will be safe."

He knew that she was right, and didn't tell others. One day, he bid his family goodbye. Even if he couldn't tell others yet, he needed to leave his home so he would be able to help when the time arose that he was needed. The more dragons he knew, the more of the skies he traveled, the more prepared he'd be for what he saw as the end of days for Sornieth.
