Rook is as patient and steadfast as the stereotype says he should be. He spends a fair amount of time mediating differences between Mestra and Brandy, his two battle partners, who almost never see eye-to-eye. Otherwise, he is a solitary individual, preferring the quiet company of his familiar and the freedom of the open air. He sometimes goes for days on end without entering his clan's cave system, preferring to remain out on watch. If Hecuba insists that he be accompanied (during troubled times or when there is an immediate threat nearby), he usually prefers to go with Skellington, who is good at enhancing the illusion of solitude by not disturbing it.
Rook and his mate, Faustine, are as different as night and day, and they generally don't spend much time together, but when they do, he is constantly fascinated and amused by her excitable, fluttery nature. They'll probably never get around to actually raising a family, but for the time being, their whimsical and low-key partnership is satisfying for them both.
