Ariel grew up in her mother's library, studying the books and scrolls that she kept there. The ones that interested her the most were the ones about healing. Not being carnivorous like many of her clan mates she has no interest in takings living things apart. Putting them back together is a different story.

She started by healing food animals that the mirrors brought home alive. Sometimes they intended to eat a creature later, and it wandered off. Most of her first patients died. But over time Ariel learned the conditions necessary for healing, and her patients began to recover.

It is hard for a snapper, lacking hands, to do most of the fine work involved in healing. Sometimes if an injury needs stitches or a cast she will call on Grave Maker to help. The old mirror has the dexterity that Ariel lacks and is certainly not squeamish. More often than not it is one of her pack that needs care anyway. Young Diamond is especially adept at getting himself hurt.

Most of the time however she is able to take care of her clan mates herself. She has found that a warm, dry place to get lots of sleep and good nutrition will fix most things. She is also skilled in magical healing.

When she started out, Ariel visited her clan mates in their dens, and sometimes she still does. After the Serthis attack however Arkar saw the need for a centralized hospital. The clan build one near the Earth temple, with a flume to bring fresh water to it from one of the springs. Garurumon later upgraded this to a proper pipe and spring box. The hospital also serves as a place to store the medicines that Macaw makes. The Skydancer has too much empathy to deal with injured and ill dragons, but she makes sure there is a well stocked supply of medicine.
