Biography

Cadenza was born to a clan at a time when dragons with a superior shine were coveted amongst dragons. She enjoyed a good life, with her choice of mates, until she met the mirror, Snowwalker. At that point, no other dragon stood any chance with her, and the two were never seen apart.

But then the Great Sleep came. They watched, horrified, as the other dragons began to slowly lose themselves one by one to an unending sleep from which they couldn't wake. Soon there were only four of them left awake - Cadenza and Snowwalker, and a pair with whom the two only had loose connections, Dyca and Kaisenna. The four could feel sleep gripping them, but chose to escape their former clan and seek help with an allied Clan - Clan Kaitos. The foursome threw themselves at the mercy of Arrenzo, who agreed to take them in.

Cadenza and Snowwalker tried to remain happy together, but the new clan and new way of life brought on an identity crisis in Snowwalker. He insisted upon changing his name in the eyes of the deities - being reborn as 'Zydrate'. After that, he was a changed dragon. Gone was the sensible, loving dragon that Cadenza had once known. In his place was a mirror that liked to leave for extended periods of time to duel the other mirrors, and often wouldn't speak to her when he returned.

Before Cadenza could make her decision about what to do with Zydrate, a Great Sleep began to descend upon Clan Kaitos. This time, however, the clan leader approached them himself, despite his exhaustion, and gave them his solemn vow. The clan would wake again. They wouldn't be left to sleep forever. Cadenza was nervous, but she found herself fully gripped by the Sleep...

Arrenzo lived up to his promise. Cadenza felt fully refreshed when she woke and was free to continue as before. She has remained good friends with Zydrate, but the two are now free to spend their time with other dragons, and have also nested with others. Slowly, she has come round to the new dragon that Zydrate is, although there will always be a place in her heart for Snowwalker.
