Biography

Orange roses have historically been closely associated with the sun, making these roses excellent for cheering people up. Bright orange indicates passion outside of the romance category, such as a passion for helping others or becoming a star. A bouquet of orange roses send a message of appreciation and platonic love. They're also used as a reminder to a loved one to show that you care, and to express joy and gratitude for a friendship. x

BATTLER / HEALER

Enthusiastic, hardworking, and surprisingly perceptive, Papyrus is always delighted to be with his friends. Dismissiveness of the spiritual world and Sans’s weird temporal powers aside, he is very open, and encouraging of others to do the same.

In combat, he has excellent agility and stamina, if somewhat clumsy in the air. His control over his magic is complete to the extent that he can stop an attack in midair. Despite this he is merciful to a fault, insisting on sparing even familiars when given the opportunity. As Undyne often points out, he wouldn't stand a chance against a significantly stronger opponent or one taking advantage of his forgiving nature. His first blow is always weak(er) in order to test his opponents’ capability.

Relationships

Sans: brother. One of the few relationships Papyrus has that he won’t elaborate on unless pressed. They know more about each other than anybody else. Papyrus knows when to push Sans, or give him space when he needs it. He is the Most Supportive Sibling that he can be.

Subset/History: Sans adopted Papyrus from a Lightning ship soon after being dropped into the Underground. Papyrus’s memories only sync linearly after they moved to Snowdin (when he was around 13-17) because Sans spent a lot of time trying to get Gaster back and trying to figure out what was wrong with the timeline (Papyrus doesn’t remember Gaster). As far as Papyrus is concerned, the laid-back, science-obsessed brother is all he has ever known. They have a very intertwined (… for brothers) relationship to strangers.
Undyne: Hero-worship upon first moving to Snowdin: admiration and close friendship later on. They used to spar frequently - Undyne still insists on lessons, although she’s given up on making him learn how to deal the killing blow. (now imagine small Pap and Undyne screaming their lungs out in front of her house as “training”) Together they are a culinary menace (only slightly improved by the Aboveground’s variety), good battle partners, and even better friends.
Toriel: Papyrus wholeheartedly approves of Sans’s closeness with her and Frisk’s caretaking. They’ve collaborated on puzzles before.
Alphys: Creator of the Self-Esteem squad, with Alphys being the only other member. The solution to improving your self-esteem is to run fifty laps while screaming “I AM THE BEST” daily (and having supportive friends).
Flowey (-> Asriel): Once-good friend, now an even better one knowing that Frisk has returned him to his original form! Not unaware of the atrocities that Flowey has committed, but insistent about the fact that he and Asriel are not the same.
G̟̹̝̻̼̟̼ą̦̳̻̩̪s̮͝t̵ͅe͜r: Encouraging - his new (or, rather, old - he started appearing in Papyrus’s bedroom after they moved to Snowdin) friend doesn’t need to be afraid of anyone anymore! … he respects his need for privacy, but wishes he could tell Sans or anyone else about him! They talk/gloop for hours. It’s very relaxing.
Mettaton: A huge fan. Doesn’t really know how to talk to him, and the Skydancer metal body is…? He falls all over himself at the slightest hint of flirtation. It’s kind of cute.

In the midst of all this, they bury their head in the sofa, trembling. A Fae perched on the armrest whispers you're doing good, kid. you're not going to hurt anyone. Not that that's really up to him, but - he'd promised the old lady he'd try. He's trying.

There's a pop, and the Skydancer's head rolls to the ground as his body shatters into dust. The head smiles up at you, gentle and inane. Even that will be gone in a moment. You wait.

"W-well, that's not what I expected..."

It's okay. I forgive you.

This is not your decision.

Frisk's breath puffs out white steam. They haven't eaten at all, and they hurt, they hurt so much. Everything beneath their shoulders is frozen from the cold, wings so stiff that they can barely feel them.

You can't stop now. Something green slithers in and out of their field of vision.

A Coatl, jaw stretched wide with perpetual amusement. Their voice isn't dissimilar to Frisk's, but it's distorted with impatience. Dead eyes, white, pupils contracted.

Honestly. Aren't imperials supposed to handle the cold better? A sigh. Or maybe that was only Asriel. Step forward. Their paws concede to crack through the ice. I miss him. I'll see him again soon. And you will, too. Their sins weigh down their back.

"Outsider!"

It's that gangly-legged skeleton of a Skydancer again, standing in their way. He's taller, but they're longer. Frisk ducks their head down anyway.

"Hey, quit moving while I'm talking to you!"

What the hell, Frisk. Are you going to let him walk all over you? Is he really worth your time?
