Cid

Of Clan Starslang
ward from an allied clan

Born of the star, raised by the horn.

Cid came to Cornifer as a ward from Starslang's clan, exchanged with one of Cornifer's children to both solidify relations between the clans and to train Cid in valuable skills he could one day bring back to Starslang if he so desired.

When Cid arrived he was the smallest and frailest out of Sornieth's largest dragon breed, even smaller than his new Guardian family. This didn't help alleviate his intense shyness. However, two things happened the first day that would, eventually, pull him out of his shell: First, he met the Smoky Bantam Fangar the clan had just stumbled across that day. When it took an immediate liking to Cid, Bukere suggested young Cid give him a name and keep him as his familiar. Cid affectionately named him Bookie, and Bookie kept Cid from feeling lonely in his adopted home.

The second thing that happened was Cid meeting Ashard. Ashard. Though not much older than him, Cid considered Ashard the ideal Imperial; strong, fearless, aloof, seeking perfection in his battle form- not to mention incredibly handsome in Cid's opinion. An opinion that became so difficult to face that Cid quickly became a babbling fool in Ashard's presence. It didn't help that Cid was essentially inept in battle, embarrassing himself more than once in front of Ashard when the clan was testing Cid's aptitude with different weaponry and styles.

It was Rigel the Jewelcrafter that eventually became Cid's mentor. To Rigel's surprise Cid showed strong innate talent in Lithomancy and Jewelcrafting, much to Cid's mother's delight. The high level of magic energies flowing in the Starfall Isles may have encouraged Cid's growth, but it would take many years for Cid to stop being quite so small, shy, and easily embarrassed. As he found his place in Cornifer as a respected seer and found peace and balance meditating in the Crystal Pools, his awkwardness melted away and he was finally able to approach Ashard with new confidence. To his complete shock and embarrassment, Ashard let him know with a devious smile that he had always loved seeing Cid blushing and stuttering and he would very much like to continue to make him blush when they were alone together.
