Shadow was an Herbalist for her previous clan. Her specialties were antidotes for common poisonous plants and animals that inhabited the Tangled Wood. When she was out one day checking up on a new plant she discovered, when she saw a young dragon who made the mistake of bending down and smelling the plant. The dragon went down and she ran to his aid.

Fearful for the little guy, she pulled out the antidote in progress and used it on him. When he woke she could not help but feel joy and relief. The two started talking with each other and hit it off. Littleclaw was the dragon's name and he stayed for three days before heading back home.

When Shadow walked Littleclaw to the edge of the border between Shadow and Light flights, word got out that she was seen with someone from an enemy flight. Whispers were heard and the other dragons of her clan started to avoid her. No one came to her for herbal remedies and antidotes, and she started to be pushed away at meals. With no one to turn to, she ran to where Littleclaw described his clan to be.

Shadow packed up everything she had and left in the night for Littleclaw's clan. Her old clan lost an important scholar when she left, but she felt no remorse. Exhausted she reached what she believed to be Littleclaw's clan. Quietly she asked to see him, and Seraphin lead her to the young Apothecary. She explained the situation and he took her into his home. Littleclaw spoke to October and Shadow became the first Shadow Ambassador for clan Glittermoon. Littleclaw took Shadow as his mate and they work together on remedies in their spare time.
