Born to strong hunter and a vigilant warrior-of-spirit, Elixir had immense strength and drive since birth. Her parents - who lived in an Arcane clan - had a tradition of traveling back to the Scarred Wasteland to host each of their nests. After Agony and Hatchet had mated a few times, they learned that in order for their children to be accepted as a Skinless, they must be born with the blood-red eyes of the Plaguebringer. Though the trip was short, it always proved to be particularly rough. Agony and Hatchet often faced obstacles when traveling to their nest, especially threats from neighboring, territorial clans. After Hatchet laid her two eggs and nursed her young dragons, the family made the trip back to Aster Clan. After arriving in her home clan for the first time, young Elixir was largely dissatisfied. She had no competition growing up; no playmate. Her only brother - a compassionate, soft-hearted Tundra named Fletcher - did not tussle with her as a child and shied away from fights when Elixir would try to spring a surprise attack on him. Though inexperienced, Elixir grew over-confident and power hungry in her abilities; she believed herself to be quite a force to be reckoned with, and her head swelled with pride. Fletcher was right to evade her attacks. The strong young Mirror could take him out in one unfriendly swipe of the claw.

Although Aster Clan had been on friendly terms with the surrounding Beast Clans, Elixir often picked fights with the creatures. She nearly killed the Snowfall Elk companion of a clanmate and received a serious scolding from her mother, who took great concern in her inappropriate actions. Hatchet told Elixir that she would need to learn better control if she ever wished to be a warrior. Elixir, however, felt as though she had done no wrong. She took out the painful void of a lonely childhood on the undeserving beasts and was thus given the reputation of a cruel behemoth. Elixir earned her scar from a tussle with an irritable Podid who took away her left eye's ability to see with one swipe of his sharp claws. Elixir harbored a particular hatred for the beast clans since then, and rarely found suitable familiars to serve as her companion.

Elixir longs to be a leader but struggles to relate to other dragons. Many dragons find her unapproachable because of her violent nature, and those who dare approach her find her conversational skills to be quite underdeveloped for a dragon of her age. Though she is plenty assertive, Elixir does not have the makings of a good leader. She acts based on her immediate desires, rather than acting based on rationality. Elixir has never been comfortable in the shadows, so she inserts herself into positions of power. She is regarded as being strong and unemotional but twisted and impulsive.

It is rumored that long ago, Skinless stripped the flesh from their lean bodies of their own volition, as a message to the rest of dragonkind that they were invulnerable to pain, and could not be frightened by threat of violence. It has since become an inherent trait. Despite the horrifying appearance of the the Skinless, rest assured that they are not in discomfort. The exposed nerve endings of muscular and connective tissues are far less sensitive. Their surface vessels release rivulets of fresh blood, which help to cleanse dirt and bacteria amassed in a typical day. This emission is constant and accumulates as a tacky, clotted substance which covers them like a protective layer. They will avoid water at all costs, as washing away the bloody coating will leave them vulnerable to native infections. tumblr_noi83rj7mq1u83h92o8_100.png
