Biography

Iccona Lomina, High Matriarch of the Deep
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."

Her mother must have been a servant of the Plaguebringer, or perhaps she was the Matriarch of Decay herself, because the first memories Iccona has of hatching and getting out in the world are rank with the stench of rotten things becoming more rotten. She remembers being drawn by the sound of the surf to wander through the Abiding Boneyard, and her first eggs, sired by Asura, Lord of Decay and Priest of the Wyrmwound, were laid and hatched in the Wandering Contagion. But at some point in all of that, even after her eldest hatchlings all found their calling with the Gods, she brought her growing flight to the Sea of a Thousand Currents.

And in finding a place to call home, she found her lifemate, the Voodoo priestess, Wimzee, blown in from the Windswept Plateau and steadfast supporter of Iccona's choices.

Others may come and go, but Wimzee will always follow her Matriarch.

Iccona's personality is best described as "bold". She leads her flight with a firm, but loving hand. Though it has been a while since she sat on a nest herself, she continues to oversee the hatching and raising of all eggs laid within her territory. Her closest allies have also looked to her for guidance with their eggs, and should any of her clan travel beyond the Sea, they are always welcome to come home again. She tries not to limit herself to any one familiar, and carries scars across her body from battles against the Beastclans.

She has led a long life, and looks forward to tomorrow with a keen eye and a sharp mind.
