ACE The Oldest Brother/Shipdragon Guarded | Hot-headed | Mischievous | Talented Ace's past is full of tragedy, his father, Roger, had been the Spiral King of a successful coastal kingdom. His Skydancer mother, Rogue, had just laid his one egg when their kingdom was attacked by it's greedy neighbors. Rogue fled, chased by enemies, while her friends and family fought off the invasion unsuccessfully, the kingdom was destroyed as they found none of the riches expected, Roger dying laughing as he proclaimed that all the treasure had been hidden and it's location would go with him. She was found days later by a friendly rival named Garp just in time for Ace's egg to hatch. Rogue was in a terrible state, she had fought tooth and claw to keep her son safe but she had no more strength to spare in the face of her home's destruction and her mate's death, she used her last breathes to name him. Already rumors were spreading that there was an heir to the ruined throne, someone who would know where the treasure was, Ace had to be hidden. Garp could not take him with him on his dangerous outings so left him with a Wildclaw bandit named Dadan before setting off. Dadan was not the best foster mother but she did keep Ace alive and taught him how to fight and hunt and read and write. He also grew up knowing of his heritage and what would happen to him if he ever was discovered as Roger's son, those greedy dragons wouldn't care that it was impossible for him to know where the legendary treasure was, they would try to get him to tell, through any means necessary. During his childhood he became friends with a troubled young Guardian named Sabo. He was the illegitimate son of the head guard and a thief from the nearby clan. His mother was distant and while his father cared for him his lifestyle was dangerous, especially his boss. The manipulative dragon only cared if he could be of future use and the two new friends had unlucky run ins with his lackeys many times before they were full grown. Not long afterward Garp returned for a short time to drop off another young hatchling with Dadan who begrudgingly took him in. This dragon was his grandson, a young Mirror named Luffy. He took to the duo instantly but they did not feel the same, they found him quite annoying and often tried ditching him which usually ended up with the Mirror in trouble. After a particularly harrowing run in with the worst of Millefiore's men they had had to bail Luffy out and bonded on the close call. As the trio grew closer they proclaimed each other brothers and that bond has held fast and strong no matter what they go through. In their adolescence Sabo was thought to be killed and Ace and Luffy were left to mourn. They shook it off with time, saying from then on they would live without regrets. To their joy though they were soon reunited with the still alive Sabo who had survived his attack but had lost his memory for a time, once he regained it he'd immediately set out to find his brothers, his charges, again. And now they stand united against whatever the world has to throw at them. Due to knowing his heritage Ace is very guarded around dragons he doesn't know, his empathy both a help and a hindrance. He can be impulsive in his actions and is often called hot-headed. He's actually quite talented and often picks up new skills and knowledge with ease. With a Spiral for a father he can get bored easily and when that happens his mischievous streak pops up in full force, often roping his brothers into it though Sabo provides the voice of reason...usually in how to actually pull whatever prank they thought of off successfully. The only unfortunate downside to his Spiral blood is that he has a tendency to drop asleep without warning when he doesn't keep an eye on how long he's been awake. For some reason ended up ridiculousy strong and resilient for a Skydancer, is often teased by his brothers for making them do the heavy lifting when he is equally capable of lifting great weights. Thankfully all of them are aware, now at least, that most other dragons aren't capable as them though there many a tale between the brothers of tearing up whole parts of the Waste during spars. Has since joined the Enterprise crew as a Rigger, Powder Monkey, general Cabindrake after he and his brothers helped their crewmate Nyla break the curse on the clan. They absolutely love being up in the air and when not working are found on the open decks of the ship, letting the wind wash over them. They don't actually use their rooms in the lair, preferring their shared room on the ship. ...(more to be written?) |
Fandragon for Portgas D. Ace
His hat is black because orange does not exist and there was a color typo in a movie once where it was black so there. Also on this day June the 4th of 2017, Ace began to panic that his hat was replaced but it was the same as ever and no one knew why he was panicking about it. (or the Highnoon set got an art update)
