Canis
Hunter
Canis is a lone wolf. He has no need for social interactions. He keeps to himself and prefers to not be spoken too. In fact, Canis chose his familiar because he cannot speak. Unable to judge, distract, or be a nuisance. Originally born into Aurum's native liar, he was never happy there and had no desire to stay. Leaving was easy for him since he had formed no connections with his previous clanmates.
While planning his route out, he overheard Aurum talking to Aztec about how much she wanted to leave. The plan was to move to the Light flight's lands and to spend the rest of their lives there. An interesting choice, Canis thought. An Ice dragon moving to Light lands is usual. From frigid fields to sun-kissed ones. He was up for the journey, but didn't tell Aurum this. Instead, he trekked behind her and her group. Unspotted, undetected.
When Aurum had reached her destinations, Canis waited for things to settle before revealing himself.
"Canis? Is that you?" Aurum had asked, obviously surprised at the fact she was followed.
"Uh, yes." He had answered simply, his voice a deep growl, matching his wolf-like attire and name.
Aurum demanded an explanation. Canis just strugged, not thinking it was a big deal. The golden dragon, however, thought of it as a big deal. How was she followed for months without realizing it? She obviously needed more training. But, she held no ill feelings towards him and invited him into the clan as their hunter. Canis agreed, but on some conditions. No dragon was to ever follow him, talk to him, or even acknowledge him besides a simple "thanks for the food!" Aurum agreed, and Canis became a permanent member of the clan.
However... all dragons do get lonely... and Canis is no exception.
That was, before he met his mate, (" ").
He found her in the middle of a hunt. Tufts of her fur were missing, her legs weak, her head low, cuts, bruises, and scrapes covered her body. She was also soaking wet, obviously had just came from the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Usually, Canis would turn and go the other way. As stated before, he is not a social dragon. It was none of his business, and he had a job to do. Back home, his clan was starving. No way he could bring a dragon back home. They had enough mouths to feed. As he was turning around to go the other way, the dragon in the distant fell to the ground. Canis ran to her side.
"H-hello? Are you alone? Do you need help?" he asked. The dragon just looked up at him then closed her eyes, blacking out. With the help of his familiar, he was able to get her back to the clan.
Once there, the clan's medic took her away. Aurum advised that he go back hunting, that she will be fine. But, Canis didn't want to leave. He wanted to be there when she woke up. To, uh, make sure she didn't freak out. Yeah, that was it.
Once (" ") was healthy enough to walk, Canis took her hunting to help build up her strength (after all, the clan still needed more food). She was a quick learner, and a great huntress. They bonded over time. (" ") eventually got a wolf cape of her own, and a similar familiar. Soon, they were spending all their time together even out side of their job. Canis finally found someone who didn't think he was weird or too quiet. (" ") has made Canis the happiest dragon in all of Sornieth.
