The only non-exalted offspring of his parents, Bubblegum has since made it his duty to care for hatchlings and nests in the lair - recognising that many are likely to receive the high honour that his father and siblings have. Despite his towering looks, Bubblegum is kind at heart, more of a gentle giant than a raging terror. His voice calm and smooth as his demeanour, no-one in the lair has anything bad to say about this dragon - even when he's teaching the young how to 'borrow like a Ridgeback'. His closest friend in the lair, Fondant, taught him the basics of the coatls' language within the first few days they knew each other. With a determined outlook, it didn't take long before he was fluent, and the two can often be seen having strange humming conversations, far too complex for the others to understand. After realising how beneficial it could be to speak two tongues, Bubblegum and Fondant began to teach the hatchlings along with Draconic; the lair has never been more welcoming to a visiting coatl than when a young Guardian or Ridgeback has bounded up, humming basic words of joy. The Ridgeback and Coatl bonded quite closely, and after building up the courage, Bubblegum confessed his feelings towards Fondant. Despite him taking a couple of weeks to stop blushing at the sight of Bubblegum, the two decided they would become a pair, together, and were proud to tell the entire lair. The only one to disapprove of this was Venus; now there was no way she could convince Bubblegum to fight with her, especially when his boyfriend was a "pacifist". Their relationship, however, she had no opinion on, which suited the two just fine. |
