Biography

Astronomer. Arcane Representative.
Mate: Illicium.
Awakened Familiar: Stardust Scholar, Juvenile Starsweeper, Hibernal Starbear, Irradiated Astronomer, Enchanting Goblin, Spirit of the Arcane, Spellwrought Ambassador, Crystalspine Gem Guardian, Enchanted Libra, Chalcedony Arcanist

Illicium visited the Starfall Isles to see the ancestral home of Fae dragons. Astrophel showed him around and they had fun. He grew to like him over Illicium's short stay, but was too shy to say anything. They parted ways.

And then, many months later, they reunited:

The Starfall Celebration was well under way: fun and games all through the day followed by stargazing and storytelling at night, and plenty of food and drink throughout. Jinok lay stretched out in the shade, cuddling with her mate. They quietly sipped their tea as they watched their clanmates enjoy themselves.

"Excuse me," said a quiet, monotone voice.

Jinok looked around and found a Fae fluttering nervously at the edge of the clearing.

"I'm Astrophel," he said with a polite dip of his head. "I'm looking for someone." His fingers clasped together as if in prayer. "Do you know a Fae named Illicium?"

Jinok grinned and pointed skyward with a wing tip. Astrophel's gaze followed it upwards. His crest flared in surprise before spreading out in open admiration.

As the strains of Chinastu's harp filled the clearing, Illicium danced along beautifully - golden silks flowing as he elegantly whirled and twirled through the sky.

"Oi, Illicium," Jinok called. "You have a guest."

Illiciun flowed through the last of his dance, bowed to their watching clanmates, and then flew down to join her. His head tilted curiously as he looked at Astrophel before his crest popped up in surprise.

"Oh, Astrophel, is that you?" he said, crest quivering excitedly. He hugged him cheerfully and chattered away; saying it was good to see him, and asking how he was doing and what he had been up to.

His crest tingeing red, Astrophel remained still and quiet within his grasp.

"Are you okay?" Illicium pulled back to ask when he got no replies.

Astrophel's crest twitched. "I love you," he suddenly blurted out.

Illicium's crest dropped in surprise.

Astrophel rambled nervously about how he'd fancied him since they first met, but he could never find the courage to tell him, that he'd regretted not saying anything since the day they said goodbye, and he'd been looking for him for a while now to finally tell him how he felt.

Soft happiness spread through Illicium. Chuckling, he pulled off his silk scarf and wrapped it around Astrophel's shoulders. He kept hold of the ends and used it to pull Astrophel close for a gentle kiss.

"Come and dance with me," Illicium invited, flicking his crest flirtatiously.

"I, I can't dance," Astrophel stammered with crest a quiver, but followed anyway.

Meredith nuzzled her and she snuggled up to him happily. "Thanks, Arcanist," she murmured.

On his space quest high above Sornieth, the Arcanist sneezed. It almost caused a supernova, but that's a story for another time.
