Biography
19kt + 11g
Trident's home clan despised him. A water dragon, born with the power of fire despite his ocean hued eyes. An anomaly. An affront to the fate that the clan's oracles valued to highly. Trident was destined to be sent to the Tidelord, a high honor that his parents felt was underserved. The pressure got to him before the day would come, and he ran away in shame.
His only light in life was Araora, an imperial he met shortly after he left his home. She was perfect, and he was happy. That would not last. It was right after their children hatched that a gang of raiding pirates attacked their home... despite his attempts to rescue them, his family didn't make it. He changed that day. After the attack, Trident was intent on getting his revenge. Years had passed, and the pirates forgot about him. He remembered them. He was able to join their crew undercover and take them out from the inside while they were at sea.
Unfortunately they were able to send out a distress signal during Trident's lone siege. When the ship rolled into the icefield harbor with only two dragons left aboard, ice flight's observant prison guards were waiting for them. Trident's stalemate with the crew's captain and commander was interrupted by the capture of all of them. While the pirates were sent to prison quickly for their crimes, the jailers needed to deliberate on Trident's sentence.
The day that Trident was finally taken to the jail, he acted. It was a mistake to let him get so close to his quarry. He escaped the gaolers guarding him with a surprise burst of fire, and flew to the ship captain's cell. After dealing with his greatest enemy, he took the captain's coat and hat - it was to protect himself from the cold, but there was a small part of him that wanted a trophy.

Other dragons do not know of Trident's life before he came to the clan. He was a weak hatchling who's sole purpose in life was to serve a deity. His parents were jealous of him going to a deity and told him that he wouldn't survive long. When he finally left his horrible home, he found a mate. She was an imperial named Araora. She was honest and kind, the perfect dragon in Trident's eyes. He found a home and lived peacefully with her in a small clan for a short while.
One day when Trident came back from gathering, she was found dead with their hatchlings in front of the lair entrance. Enraged, Trident became completely focused on finding the killer. He left his home once more, now to travel alone and gather as many clues as possible. Soon, searching for the killer became dangerous work. With all the time spent alone and all of the secrets he kept, Trident returned to having the same "kill or be killed" mentality that he carried with him as an adolescent. After a long time searching, all evidence pointed towards a gang of pirates who killed and enslaved every dragon they came across. Though the rest of the story might be thrown out of proportion, those same pirates have not raided since Trident got his revenge. Trident is silent around most dragons, with a few exceptions. His mind is almost always focused on battle- even during a conversation he still has the thought in the back of his mind. Going into crowded area's often make him unhappy, as he sees it as a good place for ambush. He really proves that he can be silent but deadly. |
This skydancer isn't always lonely and silent, though. While Trident spends most of his time on his own, he still enjoys the company of his friend and ex-mate Vevv and his mate Lirix. Vevv discusses battle, while Lirix focuses on light hearted subjects. Even a joke from his adopted son Jask can bring a rare smile to Trident's face. Similar to Lirix, Trident's past is mostly a secret to others. Trident has nightmares during the night about the time when he lived with birth family. One day he hopes to find them show them that he is alive, but now he is fine where he is- surrounded by dragons that love him. |
