An immense Frost Delver accompanies Vendilum on her travels and assists her in her duties without complaint. ND-3R, or Ender as it is known is a silent but loyal companion.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ "You'll find it someday."

______ That was what everyone told her growing up. Vendilum had been enchanted with the prospect of her own Search someday, and the idea of finding a Charge; something to protect forever. Her parents were the charge of one another, and she had found the notion a romantic thing almost from the time she was old enough to comprehend it.

______ Unfortunately, that was not to be for far longer than she thought. She grew up, training in the ways of both armed combat and ice magic; declaring that she would make a knight of herself before her Search and make a fully fable-inspired quest of it. It was that singular goal that drove her onward, until she not only became incredibly proficient at casting spells, but in the art of swordmanship as well. Indeed, she possessed the speed to wield a rapier, and the strength to wield it in full armor as anyone else might wield it unencumbered by the weight of the metal.

______ And still the innate urge to embark upon her Search did not come; her siblings left the clan when they were practically teenagers, and still she remained. Eventually, her performance suffered, and instead of becoming an ambassador or representative to another clan, she was given the duty of guarding one of the maximum security chambers at a prison within the Fortress of Ends.

______ As it turned out however, that post was what eventually led to her Search. One night she felt a strange impulse she couldn't explain; it arose from within and heightened every sense. It was in that moment of heightened awareness that she sensed something moving through the prison, and seconds later she ducked into an empty cell, avoiding the frigid blast that swept through the icy corridors. There was a rending crash, and the sound of metal breaking in two before something sprinted out of a cell, its footsteps making a mismatched series of padding and clanking noises.

______ Creeping forth from her hiding place, she saw the broken cell doors and realized who had broken out; she'd been told of the savage Tundra kept there. Now he was not only gone, but there was a statue of ice in his place in the shape of the Icewarden. She was perplexed by its presence, and even more surprised when its eyes glimmered and it spoke.

______ "Go," it said. "Search him out."

______ With that, Vendilum took off from the Fortress, feeling a sense of purpose she'd not felt since she was a child. Her search would lead her to Eberict, and her Charge would surely be the innocents who lived in whatever region the violent dragon had chosen to terrorize.

______ She tracked him northward; swimming the sea between the Southern Icefield and the Ashfall Waste; her natural strength and maneuverability in water allowing her to cross the channel with relative ease. All the while a sense of his direction seemed to guide her and she eventually turned slightly west, aiming for the Windswept Plateau instead. Some sense had warned her that he had taken a slightly more unpredictable route than originally thought.

______ She caught up with him near the Reedcleft Ascent, coming upon the Tundra as he fed. To her surprise however, he was sating his appetite on bamboo shoots rather than some helpless small mammal nearby. Accompanying him was none other than the small blue light that had freed him from the cell. To make matters even more confusing, as soon as she confronted Eberict directly,, she felt the most horrifying feeling possible; a sensation so utterly revolting to her that she very nearly vomited.

______ She felt the last piece of her life somehow fall into place and realized her Search was at an end.

______ Apparently her reaction was somewhat visible, and to her surprise, rather than use the moment of distraction to flee, the Tundra merely paced over towards her. Cocking his shaggy head to one side curiously, he asked in a gravelly voice "are you sick?"

______ Whatever answer she might have been about to give was suddenly cut off however, as a roaring noise from above was heard, and several ice-encrusted cylinders dropped from the sky, thudding into the ground around them. Immediately, they unfolded and stood; fifteen frost delvers surrounding the pair. Overhead, a cluster of Tundras circled lower; the rest of the search party had caught up with Eberict.

______ It was in that moment that Vendilum experienced a sensation she'd only heard her parents speak of before. Rearing to her hind legs, she drew her rapier with one hand and lunged, piercing the central processor of one frost delver as the others advanced. Wordlessly, Eberict lunged at the delver nearest to him while the sprite zipped through the air and vanished into the inner workings of another.

______ The battle raged back and forth, though even with one of the delvers reprogrammed to fight alongside them, both Guardian and Tundra were soon in danger of being overwhelmed.

______ That was when help arrived in the form of another dragon...
