The Skinchanger

So there is brotherhood among thieves.

A shooting star...

Like the twins, but with considerably more stealth and finesse, Pyracanthus and Keion have been appropriating fragments of Arcane crystal and energy for resale or later use. Pyracanthus doesn't see a point in worrying—this seems to be a natural event.

*

Pyracanthus slipped away to the Plague/Shadow border as soon as the disaster relented, where his shards of Arcane energy have gathered him a modest profit.

*

Back in time for Greenskeeper Gathering, Pyracanthus has been keeping things mild, spending more time assisting the gardeners than going to festivities. He is interested in the solid information on the aether, and busily fitting it together with the rumors he gathered in the borderlands.

Like most of Cindercone Clan, Pyracanthus is self-sufficient, often hunting for himself and spending time scavenging for resources for his own projects and to trade with others in the clan or without. These expeditions, however, cover the fact that he remains a thief—as he has been since his days as a clanless drifter. Gauging when his opponents will best leave their belongings alone comes naturally to him, and he has a decent success rate.

Pyracanthus joined the clan after the violent dissolution the ring of thieves he was once part of. An unexpected fellow survivor, Keion, joined Cindercone Clan shortly before their return to Fire, though she has been somewhat vague on the details of her intervening time. She has been encouraging Pyracanthus to help her reform the guild, especially now that they will not be competing with the clan as a whole—a prospect that Pyracanthus is reluctant to commit to, but secretly finds enticing.

While he can be courteous, Pyracanthus does not trust readily, and prefers to keep to himself, though Keion is less than content to permit him to do so. The Blazing Goblin is his only regular companion since the collapse of his earlier confederation, and he is more the goblin's assistant than his friend. Despite his lack of trust, his veneer of charm sees him in friendly company around the Wanderer's Rest. The major exception to this is , one of his old fellows.

Physical description
Pyracanthus is a fairly large, lean wildclaw with short, pointed wings. He is a capable flier when pressed, utilizing a rapid, exhausting flapping that carries him quickly from place to place. He moves with typical wildclaw grace on the ground, and smells of pine smoke and stone.

Origin
Pyracanthus stole his current identity from a hatchling, fleeing a dying clan. He spent some time with another bandit group, but left when they became entangled in a war he felt they could not win.

He spent several season in Fire before Flameforger's Festival occurred. Chosen by a Blazing Goblin for reasons yet unknown, he slowly and reluctantly left Fire to travel the desert.

Kin
While the identity of the young wildclaw is written out, Pyracanthus's own kin is largely unknown. They lie behind him, somewhere, already forgotten.

While otherwise unremarkable, the wildclaw whose identity he took was a second-cousin of Valarauko.

Guide
Pyroclast has recently succeeded on his mission from Flamecaller, and will likely be returning to the Great Furnace soon. He has expressed sorrow at the parting, though Pyracanthus will likely feel some relief at not being observed by deific authority at all times.

There are those who remark that time among the Plague/Shadow border seems to have given Pyroclast a devious streak, but they are few. After all, who among the clan would know how devious a deity's eyes should be?
