One of Winterfleur's closest friends, Caraniel also serves as trusted advisor and historian to the fae queen. A veritable font of knowledge, experience, and wisdom, Caraniel has had a role in almost every significant clan decision that Winterfleur has made. It would be difficult to argue that the clan has not fared all the better for it.

In addition, Caraniel is a foreign diplomat of sorts, frequently journeying back to Dragonhome, where she meets with other snappers to exchange information. Following troupes of snappers along ancient nomadic paths for weeks at a time, she builds upon alliances as well as discovers new sources of sustenance and treasure for her clan back in the Southern Icefields.

With her alluringly exotic silks, her gentle but firm demeanor, and her bold rubescent color so rarely found in the south, Caraniel is one of the most sought-after females in the clan. However, she prioritizes her time-consuming role as advisor above all else, and has left behind the act of raising fledglings long ago, since her mate Narmacil departed to serve the Icewarden.
