Donovan was born into the light and all the privilege that came with status in a light clan. But, such was not in his heart. At a young age whether by will or necessity he cannot remember, Donovan left his cushiony clan and sought out something new. There was much to see and learn; he explored much until he found a place that spoke to him. It was in a fire clan that he found his calling. In a fire clan, with their heat, he tempered his being into the strong lone ranger he is today. He also took a shining to fire's elemental magic and, while he can utilize it enough to start things on fire, he typically does little more than light his own cigars.

In his current home, this lone ranger finds the hatchlings drawn to him. They are attracted by his outlaw cowboy persona. This amused him initially and he kept up the act around the young dragons, finding no harm in their delight. But, of course, as all dragons must, he has his bad days too. There are times when he has no desire to play games with the hatchlings, no urge to be their cowboy bandit. Fortunately, when such moments happen, it is plain to read it, and the younglings are able to steer clear of him.
