Phd

Phd (pronounced ffid) calls himself a magician, looks like a wizard, performs like a clown, and can't hold a job to save his life. His every word is airy and mysterious, like he's leading up to a reveal, and he has a lot of words to say. Phd is one of the few dragons who had to ask Riley to join the Latchkey instead of being invited, and she gets irritated around him fast.

Phd spends most of his time practicing his routines, and occasionally actually performs them. He does every show with his pet frog, Spunky, but Spunky does little to participate.

While the adult dragons get tired of his routines, he's often surrounded by the Latchkey hatchlings, who are entertained by his rehearsals and tend to follow him around. The adults of the clan were surprised to find he was actually good with kids: he started to make his performances educational, and would allot time for meals, snacks, and playtime outside. Because of this he's become the unofficial clan babysitter/teacher. (If you tried to make it official, he would deny it, and remind everyone he's a great magician.)

He helped to raise Sleepless, and has taken her on as an apprentice now that she's grown. But he doesn't know how to handle her natural talent for real magic. He spends much of their apprenticeship reminding her that magic tricks are supposed to be tricks.

He loves playing up shows for Wafflecone, and tends to get shy around Buttercream.
