Biography

Lumina was once a priestess for the Lightweaver. After coming to the Sunbeam Ruins as a hatchling, she dedicated her life to learning all about the Lightweaver and her glory, working among the Exalted to care for their god.

She'd seen no problem with her chosen path until Puff appeared. The elegant Coatl was confused and homesick, seeking shelter until she could find a permanent home. Lumina sensed her anguish and took it upon herself to teach Puff about life in the Sunbeam Ruins and eventually the ways of the Lightweaver. It was difficult for them to communicate at first, but Lumina took care to understand Puff and Puff did the same.

Lumina expected to teach Puff the joys of light and the wisdom of her calling, but as Puff talked about her home above the Spiral Keep, Lumina found herself fascinated by thoughts of the outside world. And as time passed, she found herself fascinated by Puff.

The members of the Exalted sensed as her feelings changed. She tried to hide her dwindling commitment, but she became less diligent, her prayers less passionate. Her love for the Lightweaver had been overwhelmed by love for Puff and simple curiosity. After missing a day's prayer altogether, she was dismissed from her duties.

At first, the dismissal left Lumina utterly lost. She'd known nothing else. Puff comforted her the best she could, but the anguish was deep. She came to stay in the Latchkey with Puff but did little besides lay around and sleep. Some of the clan tried to raise her spirits, most ignored her, but it was Deceptive who dragged her out of her depression when he one day approached her, inviting—or more commanding—Lumina to come with him to the Coliseum, to make a name for their misfit clan.

She came along out of a hope to be useful again. When she left, she found her passion renewed. In the days spent aiding the Lightweaver, she'd never recognized her own talent for magic.

Lumina mingles with the clan now and has many offspring, but her true loves lie only in Puff, and in battle.
