Biography

Swietenia is a genus of trees in the chinaberry family, Meliaceae. It occurs natively in the Neotropics, from southern Florida, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America south to Bolivia.

Swietenia was left to starve in the uncaring expanse of Plague territory after they hatched with such dull coloring. Little would their parents expect, the brown crystal of their hide proved effective in camouflaging their small body as they huddled together under felled trees.

After weeks of starving and terrified nights listening to the creatures of the Wandering Contagion, Swietenia made it to the edge of the Starwood Strand where they collapsed from exhaustion.

Starving and hallucinating, Swietenia had no energy left to even attempt to get away from the shadow that fell over them. Gentle claws wrapped around their tiny, impossibly thin body and lifted them up. All Swietenia remembers is a low voice, a warm embrace, and then the blessing of unconsciousness.

Swietenia had been found by Velvet and Solar, two coatl with open, loving hearts who knew what a treasure they had found in the tiny hatchling. A hatchling that just so happened to be identical to their own son Macrophylla
