Little Marmaduke's Nightmare

It is said that the violent fire spirit of Shevulah was born when a practicing Cabinetrist in the southeast Red Lands was burned at the stake by the Seperatists. The witch, called Laveau, cursed her killers with a torturous fate; and her anger was reincarnated in the land of spirits.

Whether this is true or not is, of course, questionable. Laveau has certainly made a name for herself, though, despite her relative weakness and flightiness, as a particularly violent Nightmare of terrible feverish heat. She manifests as the soft glowing at the fingernails, and the burning of the tongue. When she has truly possessed her chosen target, she will take hold of their mouth and shout horrible profanities. Laveau has a distaste for planning and patience. This puts her at odds with her superior, Gegiartes. She would rather kill her chosen dreamer and move to the next. The two clash constantly, giving their chosen victims headaches and soreness upon waking; but so far, Laveau has remained under Gegiartes' sway, held like a feral cat on a leash.

For now, she lurks in Marmaduke's shadow, and cackles in his ears as he grows weaker.
