Rin
Fogfloe Scout.

Rin, brother of Ren, the foxglove and the gillyflower. The Fae twins take after their mother. Keen-eyed and reticent, they seldom speak, as their voices are the one thing that sets them apart – Rin’s pitched low and Ren’s like a one-noted flute. They prefer the language of siblings, flicker of wing and crests in coded patterns that leave even their fellow Fae bemused.

The twins like to swap guises, as though changing skins. One day adorned by roses; the next day, rolling in mounds of soot to cloak their crystalline hides, or perhaps trading apparel twice in an afternoon. Underneath their trappings, they are the same (or at least to the eye), the two flats of a knife.

Rin and Ren rarely travel together to keep up the illusion of Fogfloe having one ubiquitous scout. Safe in their lair and away from prying eyes, they are inseparable, sleeping entwined. Looking down at the tangle of gleaming black limbs, impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins.
