"I've finally become what I feared the most."
- Adult Biography
The only dragon close to Suchimu.
Horrific scars - both from magical burns and blades - cover his body, though only rarely are visible due to the wraps he wears.
Where and how he received such injuries remains unknown, though there are pervasive rumors they were due to his ties with the Shade.
He was captured and brutally attacked by scouts sent from Amberspire, due to bringing what appeared to be severe shade corruption so close to its protected borders.
They were correct about his affliction, but didn't fully grasp the extent of its hold on his body.
For after they left him, drained of blood and seemingly lifeless, It filled his veins and pulled him back together.

- Excerpts
Though his throat was slashed - and he very much took on the semblance of death - he did not perish. Whether the scouts were too leery of his suspected corruption to dispatch him properly, or the shade truly did intervene to keep its vessel, was never clear.
He awoke, muscles screaming and limbs heavy, and throat somehow healing.
Far from family, but not alone. Two white dragons sat before him, almost aethereal in their radiance.
They found him clinging to life, and watched over him, he was told.
They saw the corruption within and offered him the chance to travel with them. They offered salvation, promised purification.
Unwilling to return to his mate as he was, and too fearful of everyone else and himself to continue on alone, he accepted.
For months, they traveled constantly. Weakened from his injuries, he often lagged behind and slept where he collapsed. Each morning, they were with him, and he felt more power emanating from the couple.
He admired them, but fear gnawed at the back of his mind. As he grew stronger, so did the feeling that something was very wrong.
They were kind, but there was a tension growing. Something ominous he couldn't put his finger on.
He feigned sleep one night, on the outskirts of a small town. He watched them take their leave under moonlight, and return from the silent village all the more resplendent.
Nobody within the houses rose when morning came, but they did not linger long enough for him to be sure of anything.
More months passed, and late at night he caught pieces of a conversation between the two, who had moved out of sight. The wildclaw speaking of abandoning that life and living happily, and the skydancer voicing her doubts.
He didn't know what it meant, and couldn't catch the rest of their conversation, which became quieter still until it petered out into nothing.
Still, they didn't return.
Curiosity - and his ever-growing suspicion - overwhelmed his exhaustion and fear, and so he rose.
He silently sought out his companions, and was met with the sight of something horrible.
He turned tail and fled into the night, not daring to stop until the sun was high in the sky, and sought refuge deep within a deserted wood.
He knew, had he lingered much longer, she surely would have devoured him as well.
He lived within the old forest for a time, gathering his wits and waiting to see if he had been followed. Zaulen never came.
He made the decision to return to the borders of Amberspire, the place his life was nearly taken from him.
Though it was indeed the last place he wished to return to, it was the last place he had been with Suchimu.
He would find her, and let her choose if she would accept him as the corrupted, disfigured creature he'd become. All he wanted was to be with her once more.
And he had learned firsthand, there were more dangerous entities than the shade about.
