One time, when Vykis and his sister were young, they discovered a mysterious tablet planted in clan grounds. This wasn't necessarily an uncommon event - living in the Sunbeam Ruins led to a lot of such old discoveries and dig-ups. Vykis unearthed it and pulled it aside, and that's when his sister grabbed ahold of it. "I found it, give it here!" "I'm the one who actually dug it up, you just stood there and watched!" The silly argument continued until the tablet suddenly split with a large crack. They both fell back, neither having the wits to keep hold of their half. Good thing, too, for out of the cracked tablet climbed some inky ooze, slowly beginning to form thick black smoke in the air. That was the moment they realized that maybe toying around with the ruins was not a good idea. Luckily an absent-minded clan scholar happened to choose that moment to wander past, and he seized the broken tablet (and its ooze) between his claws. "Hmmm." He looked down his nose at the two young hatchlings. "I think I'll be taking this." No argument was made from either side, both knowing they had come close to something potentially disastrous.

Luckily, Vykis matured a bit since then, and no longer argues over small things, especially not with family. Of course, they do say to watch out for vipera dragons for a reason - you can never tell what he's thinking, at least not off the bat. He's very polite, but if you cross him, you'll often find misfortune headed your way - not that you could ever pin it on him directly, of course.

His sister left the clan first, traveling in the direction of the Southern Icefields. The Ruins were nice, she said, but there'd be more to see and do elsewhere. Vykis, too, decided to strike out from the clan. His smooth-talking and archaeological knowledge would undoubtedly help him find an "in" with any clan.
