Miu has always had a family. That is if you can count an ever coming and going pack of opportunistic scavengers a family. Because of the nature of Mirrors, and their tendency to swarm, Miu could never call herself alone, but what she had, she also couldn't call family. Her mother and father were long gone, left her in the dust of the Shattered Plain when she was barely out of an egg. She soon found a traveling pack of other Mirrors to run with, instinctively flocking to them as they were like her. She learned their ways and how to be a Mirror and she grew attached to them, her mistake.

Mirror packs don't stay together for long, they're fleeting, temporary things, going where they do and then dissolving into nothing. Miu never had any trouble finding a new pack, but none ever lasted. Again and again she found herself abandoned, that old wound never healing; she was never wanting for company, but never allowed herself to get close to any of her companions. It's surprising how truly lonely it can be when one is surrounded by so many other dragons.

Her newest pack would break away as well, this she knew to be inevitable, but this time Miu wouldn't strive to follow them, she was tired of running, instead she would stay put, in her hastily dug, abandoned lair in the Shattered Plain. There alone she lived, not like anything she wasn't already used to.

One day a Guardian happened upon her lair. He was golden in color and much too big to fit comfortably inside. ''I'm sorry, I've traveled a long distance and I'm beat... may I stay with you?'' He didn't give her any time to refuse, instead shoveling his way in despite the lack of room. Miu bristled her crest and squeezed past the big lump, muscling outside where she could breathe. ''Who do you think you are!?'' She hissed ''Barging your way into my lair like you own the place'' The Guardian looked up confused and smiled as if he had no idea what her problem was ''I'm Lodestar Stonecarver, and I have traveled far and long on my Search, now I return to the land of my home, I'm tired of traveling.''

Miu dropped her head, truer words to her ears had never been spoken, she knew all too well what it was like to be tired of traveling. ''Since you return to your homeland, does that mean you've found what you're looking for?'' Lodestar paused for a long moment staring at the ground ''No'' he spoke bluntly.'' I have failed as a Guardian, I have nothing to guard, I decided in my failure, to return to my birthplace in the Greatwyrm's Breach, but even that is gone, my old home crumpled to dust.'' Miu craned her head listening to his tale ''What will you do now that you have nowhere to return, will you resume your Search until you find what it is you're meant to guard?'' The Guardian yawned and curled up making himself comfortable, he glanced at the little Mirror under half closed eyelids ''This is a cozy little lair you've made, I think I'll stay here a while.'' He bumped his head on the cavern ceiling ''Of course we'll have to make more room...''

Crystalhide

Due to her stationary nature, Miu's body is slowly transforming into living crystal. While her condition makes it difficult to move, she would not trade her home for her former, nomadic way of life. Her right and left claw, Lodestar and Kinath, ensure her wishes are carried out when she is unable to do so herself.
