Kaphiri has lived with the clan for as long as he could remember. While running away from his home in Wind as a hatchling, he didn't get too far when he stumbled across the Arcane clan. At the time, the clan was only a small group of five or six dragons. Some of the dragons had never seen a wildclaw before! They couldn't leave the helpless hatchling behind, and that is how Kaphiri became a part of the clan.

Kaphiri had a name before he joined the clan, but he has never uttered this name to anyone, not even to himself, since he left his original clan. Kaphiri came up with his name himself. Nobody even knows for sure why he left his original clan, but nobody questions him, as he is happy in this new clan.

He is shy, often sitting away from the crowds, at the outskirts of the clan where he reads, studies, and thinks to himself. If one where to approach him, however, he would not become irritated. In fact, he likes to have lengthy discussions with others about life, philosophy, and other things. Kaphiri also enjoys a respectful debate and seldom gets angry with others, even in the middle of an argument.

A long time ago he had a crush on another wildclaw, Ella, who also was a scholar and enjoyed reading books and studied. She was a bit more extroverted and bubbly than Kaphiri, which turned him off from her at first, but came to look past that and saw her other qualities that they shared. Together, they were "nerd buddies" and felt a real connection with each other. Most dragons did not understand many of the things Kaphiri said, but Ella did. Together they would talk for hours on end, well into the night, and often would take long walks into the Starwood Strand, looking at the many plants and flowers of arcane, taking notes into their books and speaking with each other over their findings. To most it sounds like a boring research project, but it was quite romantic, as the two walked with each other in the glowing forest. Kaphiri fell deeply in love with Ella; unfortunately, she did not return these feelings and fell in love with Tux, the clan's guard. Now, Kaphiri and Ella have fell apart from this. Ella is unaware that Kaphiri ever had feelings for her. He does not talk to her much anymore, for even the sight of her brings pain to his heart.
