Biography
Gnarled and tough like his namesake, Hickory is a harsh taskmaster - but not an unkind or cruel one. He has a strong sense of justice, even if he tends to be a little antiquated about how he delivers missives and punishment.
Though he has the proudness and air of a lord, he is never too busy to stop and listen to the troubles of others - especially the smaller peoples who do not belong to dragonkind. His Serthis companion is an ambassador of a settlement he has helped many times before; they provide advice and add the softness of tact and diplomacy to his dealings with others.

Hickory grew up along the borders of Arcane and Earth. He left his family at an early age in order to become more independent and find his own path in life. This gained him a serthis companion, which the young imperial took advantage of to look more into their culture and create a diplomatic alliance with them. Little did Hickory know that this was only the beginning to a greater destiny.
Over time he grew to possess a proud, lordly presence. It commanded both respect and yet Hickory always made sure others felt comfortable approaching him with their troubles. For the most part this was the serthis or other local beasts in the areas he wandered while a rare dragon or two would seek his assistance as well. Hickory’s actions when dealing with issues brought to him were practical and just no matter the species involved. While some who didn’t know him well would see him as possibly being a tough dragon; he isn’t cruel in his verdicts.
His wanderings eventually began to take him deeper into the Earthshaker’s territory and the now mature, fully grown imperial was feeling the restlessness of his youth fading. Hickory and his serthis ambassador soon began searching for a place to settle in and take root within a clan. They wandered through several small groups of dragons in their search but either one of the two travelers didn’t feel at home or the clan wasn’t looking for members- or perhaps not ones so dated in their ideas of punishment. Finally however, he found a lone imperial named Stella. Hickory had only meant to stay a few nights with the imperial but after a while he found she- while different in her ways- shared his values.
The two soon became mates and grew their clan and family. Hickory makes for a strong, just leader alongside his serthis, whom acts as a good diplomat between dragons and beast folk. With Stella’s connections to the aviators as well; their clan soon grew to understand and encourage the value of living peacefully alongside any creature. It isn’t always hard to make peace between everyone- it never would be- but Hickory stands strong in his beliefs that they can at least create a place where all are treated equally; a place where peace might eventually take hold forever between very different species.
