Gale's Thoughts: Savir
Savir is an archaeologist. From what little I can discern from what I know of archaeology, he's pretty successful at it too.
Even as a child, he loved finding things. He'd find weirdly-shaped rocks that his hatchling brain was convinced were precious gems, and run up to his parents, crowing, "Mom! Dad! You'll never believe what I found! It must be hundreds of years old!"
Now, when he comes home from month-long digs, with actual souvenirs from his travels and the same dopey, giant grin on his face that he had as a child, he takes it to Destan first thing instead.
I should preface this next section by saying that there are a lot of what some dragons would call "couple goals" in my clan. Most of us are pretty smitten with our significant others.
But I would bet everything I have ever owned in my entire life that none of us are as adorable, as devoted, as head-over-heels-over-tail-over-EVERYTHING in love as Savir and Destan are.
They grew up together here in Chiaroscuro, born only two days apart. They were inseparable, playing until the sun went down every day and falling asleep tangled together after they'd worn themselves out. Watching them fall in love was almost sickeningly adorable. When they were both old enough that their noodle-y bodies were starting to become much more unwieldy, they were still joined at the hip, but they danced around each other in a way that was more nerve-wracking to both of them than their physical changes.
And then one day, one of them finally made a move. I'd give anything to know which one of them it was; there's been a running bet going on all the years since, and I'm personally betting on Destan. But since that day, they've been mates. It was rather unusual for dragons as young as they were, but when you know, you know, I guess.
So now, the first thing he does when he comes home is 1) find Destan and 2) forcefully tackle him in a huge hug, holding tightly to the one thing in the world he proudly (and loudly) proclaims as "more valuable than any treasure" before excitedly telling his mate everything about his latest dig as fast as he can.
And when the excitement of being back where he belongs finally renders Savir too tired to function, he falls asleep faster than any dragon I've ever met, and ten times out of ten Destan carefully carries him back to their den afterwards.
(I'll be completely honest, though, I think sometimes he's still awake, and just enjoys being carried to bed by his favorite dragon)
(I think Destan likes it too, which is why he never calls him out on it)
(They're so freaking cute together)
