Biography
Gale's Thoughts: Cavan
Cavan is one of those beautiful dragons that makes everything he does look effortless.
He's a dancer, more than good enough to go pro if he wanted to. Any travelling troupe would take him, any dance company (particularly the fae-centric ones in the Starfall Isles) would kill to have someone with his talent. But instead, he works at Xandra's outfit shop, specializing in making jewelry and engraving armor rather than anything with extensive amounts of fabric. He's good with his hands, nimble on his feet, and a marvel to watch in the air.
And Morganne wanted.
As it turned out, he wanted her right back.
They fell into an arrangement pretty early on, but for the longest time, neither of them admitted their feelings. By the time they'd had three clutches together and spent most of their days spending a good amount of time together outside of work, it was starting to get rather ridiculous. Morganne was convinced someone so beautiful could never love a lowly scavenger like her, and Cavan was convinced it was a purely friends-with-benefits arrangement that Morganne had no interest in pursuing further.
Like many things in life, it took an extreme to get them to open up. Because of course it did.
Cavan had been gone for three months, pursuing an opportunity he couldn't turn down on a tour around Sornieth with one of the best traveling dance teams. When he finally returned, he was giddy and happy in a way I'd yet to see on him before. He told us all he'd been chosen to come back permanently, and that it was a great honor.
We all congratulated him, of course, happy for his accomplishments, even if we would be sad to lose him.
Or, we would have been sad if he hadn't made his actual decision very clear, flitting over to Morganne and wrapping his tiny fae arms around her neck as her face was covered in conflicting emotions.
"Too bad for them I've already got someone to dance with, huh?"
And all the dragons around the fire lost it. Treasure and gems exchanged hands, whoops and hollers could probably be heard for a mile, but even in all the chaos I could only pay attention to Cavan holding Morganne tightly, his tiny voice whispering,
"Gods, I missed you."
And even now, years later, they dance together every night, slowly, like they have all the time in the world.
