"The future is my livelihood, and the past is my character. What, then, is the present?"
It is said that Alera was born of a mage with unbelievable powers and of a street-performer that could entrance an entire audience with one word from his mouth. It is whispered that she traveled the world with her parents, learning the skills of each of their trade before moving on to create a journey of her own.It is also said that Alera is the worst liar you'll ever meet. But, in all truth, Alera mysteriously showed up in the clan one day, saying nothing of where she came from, except for the sparkly lie of living with loving parents. Only her closest friends know the horror that she escaped. To them, she has secretly confided tales of savage dragons that held her hostage, feeding her a scrap of fish once every day, offering a cup of water to down it. She said that they wanted what they didn't have: her fortune-telling. One day, she saw an opportunity to escape. They were busy with another dragon, jeering at his pleas for mercy, for freedom. As they were beating the Tundra, she managed to burst out from her cage and fly away before they could catch up. She traveled for quite awhile, visiting each of the deities' domains, entranced by the different kinds of magic. She was tempted to live in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, to be among her kind, but she eventually chose to live in the Southern Icefield after receiving a message from a mysterious dragon named Sara Frostwalker.

B I O G R A P H Y
The pearl that rests atop her head is actually the pearl she uses for fortune-telling. Unlike a normal fortune-teller, she has the dragon look inside the pearl, and uses her power to show them images of the future. It is definitely a strange process. She is known to be the worst liar in the entire clan. In the few instances that she does lie, even the tiniest hatchling would be able to tell. The candles that mysteriously float around her flicker nervously, and she'll have a strange, forced smile on her face. The only future she'll never scry is her own. She doesn't want to know what will happen to her. Her favorite thing in the whole world is being surprised by new things, not watching what she knew would happen play out, like it was scripted. What a strange, strange fortune-teller.
