Vatrel

Vatrel is old even among Imperials, and he's forgotten what clan he was born to, but he knows he was born in the Tangled Wood, maybe in the nesting grounds of the Forum. He knows his lineage, a proud paternal line told to him by his father as an infant long, long ago and spent many years traveling the lands of Sornieth and followed many of the Eleven at one time or another. Leaving Clan Severitas to once again journey, Vatrel reached the Starfall Isles, hearing of a gateway opened by the insane mages of the Arcanist.

Fighting with two acolytes bound to the Eleven and no mage healer, they were soon wiped out. Barely escaping, Vatrel collapsed once reaching safety. He came to feeling healing magic, with an annoyed and Plague eye-rolling Pearlcatcher female dressed in a red shroud and jewels casting Aid on him while a male and female Fire Guardian worked to lift him from the eldritch ground.

The Guardians were siblings, Hessonite, son of Romeo, son of Bauble, and Rhizaria, daughter of Romeo, son of Bauble. And the Pearlcatcher was Harmeestra, who declared to be the daughter of the Plaguebringer herself. Vatrel doubted that, but he let the younger dragons bind his wounds and accepted their hospitality as they headed back home to the Ashfall, the two Guardians helping him in flight as the Pearlcatcher packed his armor and flew above them.

Resting in the maze-like caves of the ancient lair of the Clan of Raln, Vatrel's wounds heal as he prepares to fight again and maybe for a time dwell here.
