Amber-trapped Mosquito He passed over the sky three years ago. Ihimaera, born a stray earth demon, popped out of the ground a derelict with a characteristic drive for his Journey and with an uncharacteristic, unfeeling manner. Due to his nature as a demon, a myrmidon to the universe, he had no need for other dragons and therefore never interacted or showed any particular interest in them. He searched for his Charge high over Sornieth like a pebble in a stone stack, using his terrestrial roots to lead him to his destiny. One particular night, a dragon sleeping below called to him, not literally, but Ihimaera could feel the pull of fate on his wings. Scales, unlike any he had seen, dotted the dragon of his same species, it was familiar and yet with no signs of being a demon or celestial-chosen guardian. This dragon striked him with an antipathy he had never felt before. Morbid fascination took his claw and glazed over one of the most captivating of the scales on its shoulder. A stealthy reflection-like shadow of Ihimaera's deep purple combined with the dragon's blood red markings and creeped from the scale on the dragon's stirred body. Immediately aversion faded away, Ihimaera knew he had found his Charge, and whatever it took, he would stand by this dragon for the rest of his life.
