Sumbling Guard/Escort "Divide and conquer." Outpost Resident  Sumbling was personally scouted out by Tepoztopilli as a far descendant of Shamshir, who wished to bolster her family line and prevent the fading of her lineage. As such her duties are mainly to produce as many children as possible, both to the service of the Plaguebringer and to spread out across the lands of Sornieth. Taking her instincts as a mirror mother to the fullest extent is quite gratifying to her, and in this endeavour she enjoys the full support of the Carnelian Clan. In the time between nests, she takes work as a guard, quite often within the hatchery itself, though she actually far prefers border duty, so her path may pass may cross more often with Miaodao's. |

==History==
As a child Sumbling had no idea of her ancestry, knowledge of Clan Carnelian having been entirely lost in the shifts of allegiance and generations that followed the birth of Volvagia, Shamshir's first daughter and the start of the chain that stretches between her and Sumbling. She was born in the shifting expanse of the Lightning Farm, barely cracking her shell before taking her place in the workforce of Lightning Flight. The silly-looking snapper who wandered blithely into their heavily fortified lair couldn't have come as more of a surprise, nor the offer that she brought with her. ==Relationships== Sumbling is often in and out of the hatchery and enjoys a friendly relationship with Bardiche and Yatagan, regularly taking shifts to protect nests that are not her own. Her real love is the shy and reticent Miaodao, whom she admires deeply for her grace and polite manner. Sumbling can't seem to get two sentences out without putting her foot firmly in her mouth, or making an offcolour joke, so to her the graceful pearlcatcher is the epitome of cool.
