Morrighan was a well-respected and feared wizard who terrorized the eastern kingdoms with his dark magic. His power was unparalleled, as he was the reincarnation of an ancient and powerful demon. Despite his new form weakening his powers, Morrighan's magic was still more powerful than most. However, his strength led to him being arrogant, and it was what made him underestimate a duo's combined strength.

The king and queen of a ruling kingdom wanted to rid the lands of the reincarnated demon, so they sought out a way to slay him. Unfortunately, they could find no way of killing him for good, so they settled on the next best thing; sealing the demon away. The Monarchs worked and studied both day and night to learn of a way to seal demons, and thought they finally found a way. It was, however, uncertain how it would work against such a powerful one such as Morrighan, but they had to try. No matter what happened, the kingdom would fall if they didn't try, and it would fall if they failed.

When the sealing spell was cast upon the weakened wizard, the king and queen discovered it didn't actually him, but instead forced him to obey the two. It was uncertain why the spell functioned that way, perhaps a missed letter or a fumbled word, but as it was now, it worked. The two took the enslaved wizard back to their kingdom secretly and introduced Morrighan as a new servant. They decided that he would be a good way to teach their son, Lunatia, how to command others.

Though Morrighan was disgruntled and unpleasant about the whole servitude ordeal, he figured that since he was still alive, may as well live with it. Plus, that prince wasn't half-bad, anyway. As he served Lunatia, he wound up seducing the prince while also being charmed by him, so it worked out decently enough for the two of them.

One day, Morrighan discovered that both he and the prince were to go out into the world as a way to teach Lunatia, and Morrighan was to accompany him. Despite the prince's protests, the two were sent off into a random place in the world.

Due to not knowing how other parts of the world would react to their relationship, Morrighan took an androgynous form and referred to himself as female. To others, they couldn't tell what his gender was, but assumed him to be female, since he called himself as such.
