Biography
Fenix The Firebird Passionate | Confident | Energetic Phoenix subspecies
"Turn away from the light, blind dancer of flame. They may shackle your wings but your spirit burns untamed."
"Lost son of fire, come home to your kind. What use is the light to a dragon born blind?"
He kept on dancing because he feared the pain. The roars of an unseen beasts rage could be heard, usually followed by screams and orders of the damned. He wished his eyes would work this one time, to see what would finally send him into darkness; but alas his fate had always been cruel to him. He danced more, never stopping for breaks, never stopping to flee. He didn't know if he was facing his fears head on or fear was facing him. But the one thing he did know was when he heard something nearby smash into pieces and pain slammed into his curving body, his mind slowly sent him into darkness. ***** He was born blind. A disgrace to his family and a disgrace to dragon kind. Dragons were, needed to be fit, healthy and ready to work or fight but he had to be different, and most don't like differences. At first his parents thought about killing him and selling his body to some plague dragons, but them they were given the opportunity to sell him alive for a good sum of treasure. No one would bat an eye if a hatchling went to a different flight and they would be payed more than what the plagues had so the chose to sell him. The light flight pearlcatcher chucked a bag of treasure at the parents feet and grabbed the skydancer in its mouth before flying back to its base. He was too young to understand the life forced upon him. He was told by the pearlcatcher to become a dancer and if he struggled to learn or tried to fight back he would die. So he tried to dance, moving slowly and swirling around on only hind legs. Most days he was cheered, giving the clan a good show, but when those days when the crowd got mad he would leave stage bloodied and bruised; after all he knew the consequences of fighting back. It was an endless cycle, hide in his cell all day to only appear to dance. His payment was his life. As he grew to adolescence he would cry, beg, do anything to figure out what was crying in his heart. He knew there was freedom but he could never see it. ****** He woke up feeling sluggish and sore. He attempted to stand but his legs wouldn't move. He hope no one was there, no one watching him struggle. He stopped moving when something touched his back. He didn't know if he had permission to talk or was about to get seriously hurt, sending him into a panic attack. Whatever touched his back moved upwards to his head and stroked it softly. He kept crying and thinking, scared out his mind. All of his pent up emotions were finally being released. It was a while before he started calming down, the soft stroking never stopping. "You're different." A voice spoke. "You were with the lights but your eyes speak different. Who are you?" He didn't speak, he couldn't risk being hurt more. "It's okay, they are no more. I cannot show you but please believe my words." He rose a little bit, still curious and scared and responded."I-I don't know who I am... I'm just a dancer!" "Then why were you there?" "They raised me to dance." "So you won't be a threat?" "N-no voice." "Oh right I never told my name. The names Granith and those light dragons attacked my home and maimed my partner. You were caught in my rage. I'm sorry." He was caught off guard, no one had ever apologised to him before. "I-its fine... am I finally free?" "Free from them yes but I don't think I should let a blind dragon wander alone. If you want to stay in one of the houses on my land you may but I won't stop you." A decision. It was foreign to him and made him feel bad. Leave or stay. He supposed that Granith was nice enough to stay with so he said yes to the house. Granith helped lead the skydancer to his new house right next one of the other blind residents who regularly visit and help out. Granith also gave him the name 'Floom' as he was surprisingly fluffy and warm. Floom now lives happily in the clan and even dances sometimes whenever he wants. Oshas story Floom was still blind. While he had adjusted to his new open environment and his neighbours were always there to help, he felt useless and needy. He wanted to go out more, experience the world but the world needed eyes. He thought this was a silly thing for him to do as he wandered off in no particular direction, he just needed to move. But if he eyes he would know what horrors awaited outside the clans borders. He didn't know how far he walked or what time it was but he was already getting scared. Could he turn back? Which way was back? He desperately tried to keep calm but failed poorly. How stupid of him to leave. Hopefully his neighbours would realise he was gone and send someone to search for him but who knows that would take? He fell to the ground and cried; cried for help and himself. His crying was interrupted but a huffing sound near his face. Floom carefully put out a foot and touched something warm. It huffed again and nudged him. He got up and touched it more. The creature gently shoved close to Floom and started walking. When Floom didn't move he walked back and shoved him again. Floom guessed it wanted him to follow and stayed very close to the warm rock... monster? It wouldn't be a while until he heard shouts of his name from the voice of Granith and the sounds of her wings. Floom shyly said hi and stepped away from the warm thing. "Floom I'm not going to question why you left the border but you're been blessed by an embear." "What's an embear?" "One of mothers creation that isn't a dragon. Flamecaller must like you as they only show to protect the ashfall!" "But I left the border... on accident." "Not your fault your blind and I think the bear staying to help you, after all they are guardians in disguise." Granith, Floom and the bear all walked back to Flooms house and made sure he was okay. Floom decided to name his new eyes bear Oshas. Now whenever Floom wants to leave he can be safely guided by mothers guards. |
