Biography
Always an adventurous and brave sort, Sorayami often wandered far from her birth-clan in her free time. She acquired surprising skill on hunts and foraging, revealing a prodigious understanding of combat.
During one hunt, she realized another dragon was stalking her prey for that evening. To Sorayami's surprise, this competitor matched her maneuvers and predicted her ambushes. This other dragon clearly had a similar approach to hunting and combat as herself. The annoyance became a thrill, the competition a game.
The prey was long forgotten by the time the two dragons clashed outright in a clearing in the border woods. The two gave each other a nice set of scars, but neither was angry with the other. Sorayami met her kindred spirit that day.
She had met Grimhorn of Riken's clan. That first battle ended in a draw... after three solid hours of combat. Sorayami and Grimhorn knew each other better within one day than most dragons learned of each other in a lifetime, and shared deep respect from that moment forward.
It did not take long for Sorayami to request permission to leave her birth-clan and join Grimhorn's. Grimhorn didn't ask this of her. Rather, she felt more at ease in his environs. Her birth-clan, while fiercely loyal and sincere, had gentler natures than herself, and she was concerned she would accidentally insult or hurt one of her birth-clan family.
Sorayami was further assured of making the right decision after she actually moved to Grimhorn's home. Her bondmate had spread stories of her prowess and skill, and every member of the clan, even the matriarch (whom she hadn't realized was Grimhorn's mother), welcomed her with great respect and admiration of her talent.
Sorayami proudly represents her clan in the arena to this day, demonstrating her combat ability alongside her mate and their respected clan-sister, Shadowflash.
Her accomplishments as a warrior and a clan-mother have raised to the highest echelons within the clan, but she takes care to defer to Kalarakesh as any other clan member. It would hurt Sorayami more than anyone knows (save Grimhorn) if she offended her bond-clan.
