Ralcune

The captain of Avalar's leading defense squad.

Ralcune was born with a rare condition that prevents the development of scales and spikes - which are vital to any dragon's survival. His parents abandoned him, left at the mercy of The Scarred Wasteland's harsh environment. Despite this, he fought his hardest against all odds until his battered form was found by an Avalar scout. He was brought back to Avalar to have his wounds treated.

He was raised by Aegis, and then taken under Tenebris' wing when old enough for combat. Despite his condition, Tenebris was impressed by Ralcune's tenacity as he swiftly climbed through the ranks. He and Lucy granted the young dragon the coveted position of defense captain, as well as a suit of armor that he now finds difficult to live without.

Ralcune himself is very serious, but other dragons find him to be good-natured and kind once they take the time to get to know him. He does not fool around when it comes to the safety of his adoptive clan, especially those who are sick or weak. As a guardian, this clan is his charge, and he believes his survival was because he had found his charge at such a young age - a wondrous feat that is rare for guardian dragons.
