Despite being a fae, Tarnish seems to show absolutely no magical ability. Some outsiders claim that they've seen him use Shadow magic, though clan members are quick to assure them that they were mistaken.

He carries a Depin Skin wherever he goes. If you find it unattended, do not touch it. There are consequences.


  origins.

Tarnish is a Depin from a pod that resides near the shoreline. As more and more dragons began to invade their territory, his pod began to worry about their future.

Meanwhile, Tarnish gradually became friends with Nephil. Both were curious about each other, and so they struck up a bit of a friendship.

Upon learning of Tarnish and Nephil's friendship, Tarnish's pod insisted that he press the dragon for much need information. When Tarnish asked Nephil about dragons, Nephil surprised him by inviting him back to Groundhaven, where he would be able to research dragons and give his pod some much needed insider info on local dragon movements.

Knowing his pod's situation was growing more desperate, Tarnish readily accepted, donning a dragon disguise and joining the Groundhaven Clan.

Nobody in the clan has ever met Taint, from what Tarnish has mentioned, most know that he's a Depin from a pod near Tarnish's.

...and from the amount Tarnish has mentioned him, most of the clan assumes that they must be very, very close.
