Conceived on the eve of the full moon, Kei is a cool and collected dragon. Fond of basking in the moonlight, he is often awake when others are asleep, listening to the night chirpings of desert creatures.

He is an analytical dragon, and once worked with Apedemak in managing the Treasury. Apedemak managed and guarded currencies, while Kei controlled the trading and movement of items in the clan Hoard and Vault. He has since taken over Apedemak's head role after the Guardian's demise. Despite being quite young, he has the job down and has quickly adapted to his new family. He was once vaguely jealous of Apedemak's natural-born talent for control of the clan's economy, whereas he had to learn his trade through trial and error.

The Coatl Tetsu quickly became attached to him, as she was in charge of introducing and guiding him to the clan and lair. They have grown close and it seems as if they have exclusively pair bonded to each other, a social trait quite rare in Thothiare.

Other than Tetsu, Kei is mostly indifferent to other dragons. However, he quite enjoys the company of Shortcake, who he occasionally meets and converses with during mealtimes. They share a love for strawberry shortcake.
